Peggy's Salmon Stew

Ingredients:

  • 1 large can Salmon (pink)
  • 1 qt. milk
  • 2 cans evaporated milk
  • 1 stick margarine
  • salt and pepper (to taste)
  • Zesta saltine  crackers

Directions:
In a large saucepan, combine milk, evaporated milk and margarine! Remove skin and bones from Salmon and stir into milk. Add salt and pepper. Bring to a near boil. Remove from heat. Serve with crackers.
If you prefer more salmon, just add another can!
Note:   I made this salmon stew last night ! It was so good! Especially since the weather has  turned chilly.  I hope you will try it!  My friend Libby puts onions in her salmon stew but I love mine ! ENJOY!

My Mama cooked Salmon Stew (served over grits) and also cooked the best homemade biscuits years ago when I was a little girl. I am so happy to find the recipe for this tasty stew since I have been looking for it for several decades.
