Sugared pecans are the very definition of “the simplest thing in the world.” They’re easy to make, with just a handful of ingredients, and so yummy you’ll dream about them.
They say sugared pecans evolved from 17th-century French sugared almonds. French settlers brought the idea to Louisiana, but because almonds were scarce, they substituted native pecans. If you add a little cream to your mixture, these will be more like pralines.
